The Current Chapter: The Dance Between Us
If you’ve been following my recent updates, you know that my current project, The Dance Between Us, is a bit of a departure for me. It’s a story rooted in that “oh, shit” moment we hit in our 40s—the realization that the circles we thought were permanent are actually fragile.
The story follows Alva, a witch living a quiet, secret life, and the sudden, violent collision with her past. But every witch story needs an antagonist, which brings me to the most exciting part of this project’s world-building: The Witch Hunter.
Lukas’s Fieldbook of Witches
For The Dance Between Us, I will be creating something special: Lukas’s Fieldbook of Witches.
Lukas is the hunter on Alva’s trail, and his fieldbook is a gritty, obsessive collection of notes, sketches, and tracking methods used to identify the supernatural. It’s an unusual perspective on magic—not as something whimsical, but as something to be categorized and captured.
I am thrilled to announce that Lukas’s Fieldbook will be the inaugural project on the Fireborn Press Patreon. While the book tells the story, the Patreon will host the actual pages of the Fieldbook. If you want to see the “blueprints” of how a hunter sees a witch, the Patreon Inner Circle is where you’ll find it.
