SO MUCH ADMIN!!! I’m so happy that we are coming to the end of May. This month, for me at least, has been all about doing the ‘other stuff’ that Authors get up. I got two proofs in the mail – The Dance Between Us and Lukas’s Field Guide for Witches, last month. Which meant I had to edit them both up. While The Dance Between Us is written by me, and only me (Human Authored), Lukas’s Field Guide has a lot of input from AI, as it is just a fun add-on.
Because I’m a full-time employee, a mom, and an author, the add-ons are usually AI inputted with me acting as editor and creator. Except this post. You can tell this is me writing, as I will now use free will and say this:

See – Totally human (or is it – I’m making you wonder with my casual use of hyphens).
Anyway, I digress. After doing the edit of The Dance Between Us, I realised that my editing has changed a lot since my first book, The Duct Taped Dead. So, I spent a while going back and fixing up a lot of minor errors in all four of my fiction books. Of course, once the print books were exported, I had to also do the eBooks… like I said, this month has been a lot of admin.
But I’m happy to say that the last one was completed yesterday, which means I have got a lot of good things done and off my plate. However, in my quest to make book trailers, which you guys have seen, I’ve discovered that I can also make audiobooks…. So you know what that means.
I’m going to make audiobooks! It takes a lot of credits, as you can imagine. I might only be able to do one a month. But please keep your eyes open. I’ll let you know once I’ve completed each one.
I’ve also given the website a bit of a spruce. You’ll see I have clear formats now for the book pages, in terms of layout. But enough of the boring admin stuff, let me tell you some exciting news.
First of all – While I was waiting of The Last Dance Between Us to arrive, so I could edit, I wrote up an interactive book called Is It You? This a multiple-choice book with eight different endings. It’s a short book, sitting at about 35-40K, but it’s a lot of fun and has good interactivity. I will be converting this into an ebook, with hyperlinked choices, as well as trying my hand at making an app. But before I do any of that, I have to wait for the print to edit (arrgg… back to admin!).
But – this should be fairly quick and a real fun book.
NOW – other things that are in my pipline, that isn’t admin, is I am going to convert and add lore to the Lukas Field Guide, and then expand it all on Pateron. Yes! I’ll be creating short videos about each of the witches, writing stories about each on, and all types of fun things.
Another item that is also coming up is that I’ve started giving my next book, Breaking the Surface, some thought.
The book will be Sci-Fi – based in the future, where pollution has gotten out of control. Humans are living in domes, where they have pure air, but I’m afraid outside the dome, is pretty unbreathable. Most of the mammal life is gone, leaving a world where insects and bugs have taken over and overgrown to dominate the food chain.
The ocean has developed a “crust” of floating debris and nano-plastic. This has had huge consequences, as there is now no gas exchange between the sea and the air, and there is also no heat exchange. The humans have no idea (well, at least in my first book) of what life exists under the pollution, if any.
The first book will set the environment and give us an introduction to the main characters, exploring the characters’ development, as the plot thickens. This will be somewhat of a dark fantasy, and while it will be laced with my humor, I should warn that things are going to get unpleasant. As most of my books tend to.
